1. Introduction
This Refund Policy governs the terms and conditions under which Rhymes Homes and Partners Limited, trading as Examyra, processes refund requests for subscriptions and other paid services on the Examyra platform. By completing a payment on Examyra, you confirm that you have read and accepted this Policy.
Examyra uses Monnify (operated by TeamApt Limited) and Flutterwave as its authorised payment processors. All financial transactions are conducted in Nigerian Naira (NGN) unless otherwise stated. The processing of refunds is subject to the terms of these payment processors in addition to this Policy.
2. Subscription Plans and Billing
Examyra offers subscription-based access to its learning platform. Subscription plans are offered on monthly and annual billing cycles. Details of current plan pricing and features are available on the Examyra website and are subject to change with prior notice to existing subscribers.
Subscriptions are activated immediately upon receipt of confirmed payment. Access to the platform continues for the duration of the subscription period selected at the time of purchase.
3. Eligibility for Refunds
3.1 Fourteen-Day Trial Period
New subscribers who have not previously held an active Examyra subscription are entitled to request a full refund within 14 calendar days of their initial payment, provided that:
- The refund request is made within 14 calendar days of the date of the first payment.
- The subscriber has not consumed more than 20% of the platform content available under their plan during that period.
- The request is submitted through the designated refund request process described in Section 5 of this Policy.
This 14-day period is provided to allow new users a reasonable opportunity to evaluate the platform. It applies to first-time subscriptions only and does not apply to renewals or plan upgrades.
3.2 Technical Failures
A refund or service credit may be issued where a demonstrable technical failure on Examyra's part has rendered the platform substantially inaccessible for a continuous period of 72 hours or more during your active subscription period, and where Examyra is unable to provide remediation within a reasonable timeframe. Refunds in this category are calculated on a pro-rata basis relative to the affected portion of the subscription period.
3.3 Duplicate Payments
Where a duplicate charge is identified, the excess amount will be refunded in full. Duplicate payment claims must be submitted within 30 days of the transaction date and supported by evidence of both charges.
3.4 Unauthorized Transactions
If you believe a payment was made without your authorization, you must notify us at legal@examyra.com and your payment provider without delay. We will investigate the claim and, where the unauthorized nature of the transaction is confirmed, process a refund in accordance with our payment processors' dispute resolution procedures.
4. Non-Refundable Circumstances
Refunds will not be issued in the following circumstances:
- Requests made after the 14-day new subscriber trial period for change of mind or dissatisfaction that does not arise from a technical failure attributable to Examyra.
- Subscription renewals, whether automatic or manual, where the renewal date was communicated to you in advance via email notification.
- Plan upgrades purchased mid-subscription cycle.
- Partial use of a subscription period, except where a pro-rata refund is expressly provided for under Section 3.2.
- Accounts that have been suspended or terminated for violation of Examyra's Terms of Service.
- Requests made on the basis of inability to access the platform resulting from the user's own device, internet connection, or software issues.
- Free trial periods that have been converted to paid subscriptions after the user continues beyond the trial without cancelling.
5. How to Request a Refund
All refund requests must be submitted by email to legal@examyra.com. Your request should include the following information:
- Your full name as registered on Examyra
- The email address associated with your account
- The date and amount of the transaction for which a refund is sought
- Your Monnify or Flutterwave transaction reference number, where available
- A clear description of the reason for your refund request
- Supporting evidence where applicable, such as screenshots of technical errors or bank statements showing duplicate charges
We will acknowledge your request within 2 business days and communicate our decision within 7 business days of receiving a complete submission. Where additional information is required, we will notify you and the 7-day review period will recommence from the date we receive the outstanding information.
6. Refund Processing and Timelines
Approved refunds are processed through the same payment channel used for the original transaction, whether Monnify or Flutterwave. Once a refund has been approved and initiated by Examyra, the credit will appear in your account or on your card statement within the following timelines:
- Bank transfers via Monnify: 3 to 7 business days
- Card payments via Flutterwave: 5 to 14 business days, depending on your card issuer
These timelines are estimates and may vary depending on your financial institution. Examyra is not responsible for delays caused by banks or payment processors once a refund has been successfully initiated from our end.
Where a refund cannot be processed through the original payment method due to account closure or other circumstances, we will contact you to arrange an alternative payment method.
7. Subscription Cancellation
You may cancel your Examyra subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at legal@examyra.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle. You will continue to have access to the platform until that date, and no further charges will be made.
Cancellation of a subscription does not automatically entitle you to a refund for the current or any prior billing period unless your request meets the eligibility criteria set out in Section 3 of this Policy.
8. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
We encourage users to contact us directly at legal@examyra.com before initiating a chargeback with their bank or card issuer, as most payment issues can be resolved more quickly through our support process.
If a chargeback is initiated, we reserve the right to suspend access to your Examyra account while the dispute is under investigation. If the chargeback is found to be unwarranted, we may permanently restrict your access to the platform and recover any associated costs incurred in responding to the dispute.
9. Currency and Taxes
All transactions on the Examyra platform are processed in Nigerian Naira (NGN). Refunds will be issued in the same currency as the original payment. Examyra is not responsible for any foreign exchange differences, transaction fees, or charges imposed by your bank in connection with a refund.
Where applicable taxes were included in your original payment, refunds will include the tax component proportional to the amount being refunded.
10. Amendments to This Policy
We reserve the right to amend this Refund Policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated to existing subscribers by email and through a platform notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Changes will not apply retroactively to refund requests submitted before the effective date of the revision.
Your continued use of the Examyra platform after any revision takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
This Refund Policy is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, including the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act (FCCPA) 2019 and any applicable regulations issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in relation to electronic payments.
In the event of a dispute that cannot be resolved through our support process, both parties agree to seek resolution through mediation in the first instance before commencing any formal legal proceedings. The courts of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, shall have jurisdiction over any unresolved disputes.
