Examyra® is owned and operated by Rhymes Homes and Partners Ltd. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the Examyra platform at examyra.com.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Account information: Name, email address, and optionally phone number provided during registration.
Student profile: Target exam (JAMB/WAEC), subject selections, exam date, and subscription status.
Usage data: Practice sessions, questions answered, accuracy rates, topic mastery scores, and daily streaks.
Payment data: Transaction references and subscription records. We do not store card numbers or bank details — these are handled exclusively by Monnify.
Parent data: If you are a parent, we store your name, email, and the email reports preference you set.
Device and log data: IP address, browser type, and general usage logs for security and performance monitoring.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and personalise your exam preparation experience.
To generate AI-powered questions and study recommendations tailored to your weak topics.
To track and display your topic mastery, streak, and progress.
To send parents weekly progress reports (if email reports are enabled).
To process subscription payments and send payment confirmation emails.
To respond to support requests and communicate service updates.
To detect and prevent fraud and unauthorised account access.

3. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following third-party providers solely to operate the Platform:

Anthropic (Claude AI):Question text is sent to Anthropic's API to generate exam questions and explanations. No personally identifiable information is included in these requests.
Monnify: Payment processor for subscription transactions. Monnify processes card and bank transfer details directly and is subject to their own privacy policy.
Resend: Email delivery service used to send progress reports, password reset emails, and payment confirmations.
Supabase (PostgreSQL): Cloud database hosting your account and learning data, hosted on AWS in the EU Central region.
Upstash Redis: Used to cache AI explanations to reduce repeated API calls. No personally identifiable data is cached.
Vercel:Platform hosting provider. Your traffic is processed through Vercel's infrastructure.

We do not sell your personal data to any third parties.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account and learning data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes. Anonymised, aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

5. Children's Privacy

Examyra is designed for students preparing for JAMB and WAEC, who are typically 14 years of age and above. If a student under 13 registers, a parent or guardian must provide consent. Parents can monitor their child's activity through the Parent Dashboard and may contact us to request deletion of their child's data.

6. Cookies

Examyra uses session cookies to keep you signed in and functional cookies to maintain your preferences. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate data via your account settings.
Request deletion of your account and personal data.
Opt out of weekly email reports via the Parent Settings page.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users by email when material changes are made. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
